AHMEDABAD: The

special operations group

(SOG) of city crime branch nabbed two persons, Ravi Adhikari from

West Bengal

and a resident of

Krishnagar

and his associate Ravindranath Laga, also from West Bengal, for stealing gold worth Rs 6.15 lakh from city-based jeweller Bharat Soni.

Assistant commissioner of police, SOG, B C Solanki said Bharat Soni had given the gold to Adhikari and Laga, who were working as goldsmiths at

Ratanpol

in Ahmedabad, to make ornaments.

"The two had fled with the gold," said ACP Solanki.

SOG sources said they received a tip-off and nabbed the duo as they were trying to flee the city. Police have recovered the stolen gold from the accused.

"We handed the accused over to local police for further investigation," said Solanki.
