13,000 to take GPSC prelims for Class 1, Class 2 posts in Ahmedabad on June 7
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) is set to conduct the preliminary exam for various Class 1 and Class 2 posts on Sunday. The exam will be held from 11am to 2pm. The Ahmedabad City district education office has completed all administrative and security arrangements to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of this competitive exam.
According to official information, more than 13,000 candidates will appear for the exam in Ahmedabad city, including 216 Divyang (differently abled) candidates. The preliminary test will cover multiple cadres, including Gujarat Administrative Service Class 1, Civil Services Class 1 and 2, municipal chief officer Class 2, assistant conservator of forest (ACF) Class 2, range forest officer (RFO) Class 2, and accounts officer Class 1 and 2.
A total of 57 exam centres with 555 blocks have been set up across the city. Special arrangements have been made for differently abled candidates at two designated centres, with extra time of 60 minutes allotted to them. To manage the process, 57 centre supervisors, 13 zonal officers, 57 commission representatives, and CCTV supervisors have been deployed, all of whom have undergone prior training.
On the exam day, zonal officers will collect question papers from Gandhinagar under armed security and ensure timely distribution. Strict instructions have been issued regarding surveillance and security. Adequate police arrangements have also been made to maintain law and order around exam centres.
