Yogi gaumata’s useless son who stole her fodder: Salman Khurshid

AGRA

: Hitting out at UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath for his Batla House jibe, the Congress senior leader and party’s

Farrukhabad

candidate Salman Khurshid called Yogi “gaumata’s useless son who stole her fodder”.

The statement came a day after, Yogi in his public addressing at Mohammadabad in Farrukhabad had said, “During the Congress regime cases like Batla House happened. One must question Salman Khurshid as what relations he had with people of Batla House. On what grounds, he went on to defend them.”

Talking to reporters, the former foreign minister said, “He is free to talk to me on Batla House anytime and if convenient, he must come to a gaushala (cowshed) and have conversation with me. So that it becomes clear whether the cow is with him or me. He is a useless son, who stole the fodder of gaumata (mother cow). Lord Krishna only stole butter, but Yogi stole her food.”

In 2014, Salman Khurshid lost to BJP candidate Mukesh Rajput from Farrukhabad and stood fourth with 95,543 votes. He had won the LS polls in 2009 from the same seat. His wife Louise Khurshid also contested LS polls from same seat in 2004 and 1999, but lost to Samajwadi Party candidate Chandra Bhushan Singh on both occasions.
