AGRA: A 35-year-old woman and her three-year-old son were killed after a speeding vehicle ran over them in Muzaffarnagar on Wednesday.
Her husband, Rashid Ahmed, 38, had parked his bike under a tree to take shelter from the rain. Officials said the child had asked for chips and Rashid had gone to a nearby shop when the vehicle struck Gulnaz Begum and their son Shadab, who were waiting under the tree.
Gulnaz died on the spot, while Shadab was taken to a district hospital and later referred to Meerut for further treatment, but died on the way.
Chhapar SHO Mohit Sehrawat said, “We reached after being alerted by locals. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and a case has been registered against the unidentified vehicle and its driver. CCTV footage is being examined.”
