Watchman found dead at pvt school in M’nagar, murder suspected
Agra: A body of a watchman was found inside the premises of a private school under Charthawal police station in Muzaffarnagar district on Saturday morning.
Police said Rajkumar alias Raju, in his 50s, who had been working as a watchman at the school for the past four years, was allegedly attacked on the head with a sharp-edged weapon while on night duty. The incident came to light when school staff arrived in the morning and found his body lying in a pool of blood. Police teams, along with forensic experts and a dog squad, reached the spot and conducted an inspection, and sent the body for postmortem. Family members of the deceased said he had no known enmity with anyone.
DSP (Sadar) Ravishankar Mishra said a police constable on morning patrol alerted officials, who visited the site. He said multiple teams, including the special operations group (SOG) and local police, have been formed to investigate the matter.
“Evidence at the scene indicates injuries caused by a sharp weapon. Blood trails have been found and the dog squad is being used to track the accused’s escape route. A case has been registered under section 103 (murder) of BNS,” the DSP said.
