AGRA: Five people died and four others were injured after the wall and roof of an old building, located around 200 metres away from the Banke Bihari temple, collapsed at Vrindavan town in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district on Tuesday evening.
Shortly after the incident, people in the vicinity arrived at the scene, clearing debris and rescuing those trapped underneath. With police assistance, nine individuals were promptly shifted to the district hospital, where five devotees were declared dead upon arrival.
Four people who sustained critical injuries are currently receiving treatment at the hospital, Mathura district magistrate Pulkit Khare said.
According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Arvind Yadav, Geeta Kashyap, Rashmi Gupta from Kanpur, Chandan Rai from Deoria, and Anju from Punjab.
