Vikas Dubey effect: 10 arrested in five different cases in 24 hours in Agra

AGRA: Going in top gear to apprehend habitual and

wanted offenders

, in less than 24 hours Agra police arrested 10 men in five different criminal cases. The caught accused included wanted men with reward of Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000. Two were caught in a police encounter, and the duo sustained bullet injuries in their leg.

The first arresting was of

Nathia Singh

alias Natho, who was absconding for last 12-years in double murder. Police had declared a cash reward of Rs 25,000 on his head. According to Shamshabad police, on October 31, 2008 Nathia along with five others had murdered a young girl and boy in Mahrampur village, as the couple were in relationship. After the murder, Nathia fled away to Bharatpur and later to Ludhiana to avoid arresting, meanwhile rest five accused got life term by local court. "After an input of his presence in Agra, we caught the accused near Raj inter-college," said SHO

Second arresting was of a man identified as Salman of Itmad-ud-daula area, who was wanted under gangster act and was carrying cash reward of Rs 20,000. He caught along with accomplice with namesake Salman of

Tajganj area

. The two were caught in a police encounter carried out by SOG and Tajganj police. “When confronted, the two suspects fired on police party, therefore in retaliation our men too fired on them and injured duo legs in order to catch them,” said SHO Tajganj Narender Kumar.

Third arresting was made by Khandauli police of a man, who was wanted in a kidnapping case and was carrying Rs 10,000 for last two years. Apprehended accused was identified as Sughriv of Hathras, who had allegedly helped his friend Mahesh Chandra to kidnap his a teenager sibling to extort money from the family back in June 2018.

Four teenagers were also arrested by Sadar police for burglary in a mobile store. According to police on Wednesday early morning, the four accused stole 30 mobile phones, five Bluetooth head gear, eight pen drives and other gadgets.

Later, Jagdispura police arrested three men who used to manufacture and supply illegal country-made weapons in the district. The accused were identified as Lokendra Singh, Hakim and Subhas Singh. According to police, Subhas Singh use to make country-made weapons, while Lokendra Singh and Hakim used to sell after finding clients for weapon.
