UP police constable suspended after video of him beating a man goes viral

was suspended on Tuesday after a video of him thrashing and humiliating a man by making him rub his nose on his shoes went viral on social media.

According to police Singh was suspended on the charges of assaulting one Sudhir Kumar. The constable had allegedly chased and thrashed Sudhir, who was trying to flee after the police raided his house in connection with a complaint against him over dispute over some money.

The entire action chase was recorded on video that clearly showed the constable beating up Sudhir Kumar.

According to police, Sudhir Kumar is a DJ in Manbhoj village and was hired by one Ravi Yadav from the same village for a function. Ravi had paid him some advance but had refused to pay up the balance of Rs 2000 on the plea that his services were not up to the mark.

Sudhir had allegedly thrashed Ravi Yadav for refusing to pay him and the former had lodged a police complaint against him.

When the police party reached Sudhir’s house to make inquiries, he tried to flee the spot but was chased and thrashed by the countable. The constable further forced Sudhir to rub his nose on his shoes.

Talking to media, Sudhir said that he had been running around to get his dues from ??? for the last 20 days. He alleged that he was beaten by ??? when he had asked him to pay up.

“I got scared after seeing police with Ravi and Indrapal coming towards me and tried to run away but unfortunately they grabbed me and beat me”, he said.

told TOI that after seeing the video clip, the constable has been suspended. He said however claimed that the video one month old.
