: Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary’s car was stolen from outside his nephew’s residence in Mathura on Thursday. The car was recovered within six hours from Bharatpur due to the presence of a GPS device in it.

The vehicle, an Innova Crysta, is registered under the name of Chaudhary’s wife

Mamta Chaudhary

.

The car was stolen around 4 am on Thursday, said Chaudhary’s nephew

Manoj Fauzdar

. “When I woke up at 6 am, I found the car was missing. I immediately checked the CCTV footage and informed the police on 112,” he added.

Since a GPS was installed in the car, its location could be traced. “When I reached Bharatpur with the local police, I found the car parked on the roadside,” he said, adding that it was damaged and it seems the thieves left it behind after being hit by a vehicle.

Circle officer, refinery, Abhishek Tewari said that an

FIR

is being registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim.
