Two people die of black fungus in Mathura & Hathras

Two persons including a journalist infected with Black Fungus (Mucormycosis) died in Mathura and Hathras district within the last 72 hours. Ratan Gupta, 43, bureau chief of Hindustan newspaper in Hathras had got infected with Covid-19 a fortnight ago.

AGRA: Two people infected with Black Fungus (Mucormycosis) died in Mathura and Hathras district within the last 72 hours.Ratan Gupta, 43, bureau chief of Hindustan newspaper in Hathras had got infected with Covid-19 a fortnight ago. He was quarantined at home, later he got infected with black fungus and was shifted to Delhi AIIMS as there was no treatment available in the district. He breathed his last today around 9:30 pm during the treatment.Another case was reported in Mathura where a man in his 60s died in Jaipur during treatment of black fungus, said incharge of Covid Control unit, Dr Bhudev. He said that the person was home isolated after getting Covid and developed complications. He was taken to Jaipur for treatment by his family and he died there on May 18.
