UP: Two Bangladeshi nationals with 'fake' Aadhar, PAN cards held from Vrindavan

Bangladeshi nationals

for allegedly living illegally in India with Aadhar and PAN cards procured through forged and

fake documents

. They were allegedly posing as “sadhus” and work as non-registered “sevadars” at

ISCKON temple

.


According to police, the suspects were identified as Joy Debonath and

Nonidev Nath

in the age group of 25-30 years, had been living illegally for the past one and a half month near ISCKON temple in Vrindavan. Both have been booked under various sections of IPC and the Foreigners Act.

Police said that they had left Bangladesh on July 12. After arriving at Vrindavan, they first applied for Aadhar cards with fake names - Joy Gopal Debonath and Nonidev Gopal Nath and then made PAN cards. On the basis of these documents, they opened their bank accounts in Punjab National Bank.

Not only this, they later applied for Indian passport, but were caught by the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) officer, who got suspicious with their names while verifying the documents.

SP (City) Shravan Kumar Singh told TOI that LIU officer called suspects for queries and they were trapped by the official. They initially told LIU officer that they had lost their passports, but police recovered their “Bangladeshi” passports from their house, where they were staying on rent. Even, many Bangladeshi numbers were dialled from their mobile phones.

The suspects also disclosed the names of the persons who made their Aadhar card and PAN card. They were identified as Rakesh Gaur and Shubham. The police have launched a search operation to nab them.

SP said that the two were planning to settle in India and probably also call their relatives here later.

Chowki incharge Ramanreti under Vrindavan police station Vipin Gautam said that an FIR registered under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471(using as genuine a forged document) of IPC and section 14 in the Foreigners Act.

He said, two passports, two Aadhar cards, two PAN cards, two passbooks, four mobile phones, two cheque books and some Bangladesh university documents have been seized from them.
