AGRA: Three friends including a
software engineer
working in Noida based IT company were killed in road accident on
Agra-Lucknow expressway
.
The accident occurred at around 9:15 am near 32 milestone (Kharagpur) of
Fatehabad police jurisdiction
in Agra district. According to police, the three victims were returning NCR in a hatchback from Chhapra, Bihar after attending a wedding ceremony of their friend’s sister, when their car hit into rear of a
cargo container
(truck), parked on the side lane of expressway.”
Victims were identified as
Sachin Chauhan (22), resident of Vandana enclave, Khora in Ghaziabad district, Atul Bhaskar native of Barauni, Begusarai district, Bihar and Prabhakar Pandey resident of Rohini, Delhi. The other two victims were also in their early 20s.
Speaking to TOI, Jagpal Chauhan, father of deceased Sachin said, “He had left home on June 16 in a train to attend wedding ceremony of his friend’s sister in Bihar. For return journey, he decided to come along with Rahul and Atul in a hatchback.”
A year back, Sachin had joined an IT company based in sector 126 Noida.
“Nearly three hours before the accident, at around 6 am he made a call to his mother Savitri and informed her that all three had taken a brief halt for some rest at a public convenience based on Agra-Lucknow expressway and will reach home by afternoon. But at around 10 am, we receive a police call about his death,” said Jagpal Chauhan, who owns grocery store in Khora.
According to police, at the time of accident Atul Bhaskar was allegedly behind the steering wheel. His father Ranjeet Kumar is loco inspector in Indian railways. The victim was preparing for competitive exam.
Sub inspector Balveer Singh, investigating officer of the accident case said, “All the three victims' corpse have been sent for autopsy. The speeding car hit into rear of truck parked on the side lane of expressway. Since the accident occurred in morning hour, he assumed that driver of the car fell asleep on steering wheel.”
Based on the written complaint of victim’s family member, an FIR will be lodged. The truck in which the car hit has been seized for investigation.
