Three day old child stolen from Vrindavan’s Ramkrishna Mission hospital

AGRA: A three day old baby girl was stolen from maternity ward of

RamKrishna Mission hospital

, Vrindavan, on Saturday morning.

The child was born to

Mamta Goswami

on December 15. It was the couple’s first child. Talking to TOI, the missing infant's father, Kamal, a resident of Vrindavan, said an unidentified woman came inside ward and asked his mother,

Geeta Devi

, that someone was waiting for them outside the ward to meet her. She also informed her that the baby had to be taken for immunization.

When Geeta Devi went outside, no one was waiting for her and after returning she found that the baby was not in the cradle. When they made inquires, the hospital staff informed them that they had instructed anyone to take the baby for immunisation.

Confirming the incident, hospital administrator,

Kali Krishna Nand

said patient’s mother in law, Geeta Devi came and informed them that their child was stolen. We immediately accessed the CCTV footage and from they identified the woman who had spoken to them. He said the CCTV footage has been handed over to the police, which is conducting investigations.
