State police chief to visit Mathura and conduct review meeting to curb crime

AGRA: Taking cognizance of two robberies and murders of jewellers on Monday night, state police chief Sulkhan Singh will visit Mathura on Wednesday.
Speaking to TOI, additional director general of police Agra zone, Ajay Anand said, “DGP will visit Mathura and a review meeting will be conducted to discuss the measures to be taken to curb and control crime rate in the region.”
On Monday night, one jeweller was shot and robbed in Runkata area of Agra, while in Mathura two jewellers were killed and two were injured after a gang of six men armed with weapons attacked the jewellers shop in Koilewali gali of holy gate area.

Right after two jewellers were shot in Mathura, IG Agra range Mutha Ashok Jain visited incident spot and later decided to camp in the district in order to lead the probe so as to apprehend the accused involved in the incident. Later on Tuesday afternoon, ADG Ajay Anand also visited Mathura to know the status of the case.
Earlier, local MLA and cabinet minister Shrikant Sharma tweeted about the incident and expressed his condolence over the death of two jewellers and claimed, that CM was angry over the incident and have asked DGP Sulkhan Singh to take action against accused involved in the incident.
