Agra: A 23-year-old man, who was out with his 16-year-old relative on a motorcycle to distribute his wedding invitation cards to guests about five days before the ceremony, was crushed to death and dragged along the road for a few metres by a speeding car near a roadside eatery in Agra on Sunday night. The groom-to-be's relative also died in the incident, police said.According to cops, Jitendra Kumar, 23, who used to work as a confectioner, was engaged to a woman from Rajasthan's Dholpur. His pre-wedding event was to be held on Tuesday, and his marriage ceremony scheduled three days later. Kumar was with his relative, Sachin, 16, when their bike was hit between Narhauli and Jarar.After the incident, both were thrown off on the road and dragged along the stretch, a local witness said, adding doctors at Agra's SN Medical College declared them "dead on arrival". Youngest among five brothers, Sachin, who hailed from Bhaupura in Bah area, used to work at a sweet shop in Jamnagar, Gujarat.DCP Agra (east) Abhishek Agrawal said, "The car driver fled with his vehicle. Efforts are on to identify the driver and also find the car. Appropriate action will be taken against the culprit as per the law."
