Sitapur judge’s steno beaten to death in Mathura

AGRA: A 42-year-old steno of a district & session court Judge of Sitapur was beaten to death by his neighbours over a

property dispute

According to police, the incident occurred around 6 am when the deceased,

Mahesh Chandra

, was going to relieve himself. He was lynched by his neighbour, Gynanedra and his associates at their house. The suspect allegedly tied the victim with a rope from a tree and beat him with sticks and iron rods.

Mahesh’s relative Nirdosh Kumar immediately called police control room for help. Police took the victim to the district hospital from where he was referred to SN Medical College, Agra, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

Nirdosh told media that there was a dispute between the accused and the victim over construction of wall near their house and the matter was resolved yesterday. He said that he had no idea as to what triggered the suspects to commit the crime.

A case has been registered against 16 people under section 302 (murder), 147 (rioting), 148 (armed with deadly weapons), 149 (Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 342 (wrongful confinement) and section 34 of IPC, said Naujheel police station incharge, Virendra Singh.

While 10 of them have been arrested, six are absconding, said police.

said that the deceased’s body has been sent for post mortem and further investigations are on. He said police force has been deployed in the area, as a precautionary measure.
