Agra: A sub-inspector (SI), in his late 20s, posted in Aligarh was suspended after an investigation into his conduct found he was sending inappropriate messages to a woman constable, police said on Sunday.
According to the complainant, she came in contact with the accused a month ago for official communication and they exchanged phone numbers. She alleged that the officer began calling her repeatedly and sending objectionable messages despite her objections.
The constable, accompanied by her brother, approached SSP Neeraj Kumar Jadaun and filed a complaint. An internal inquiry into the matter found the allegations to be true, following which Jadaun suspended the SI on Saturday.
"After a female constable filed a complaint, a probe was ordered into the matter. Based on the investigation report, the accused SI was suspended. Further departmental proceedings are underway."
