AGRA: A day after five men were killed in exchange of fire over a land dispute in Kasganj district, two families in a remote village in Agra attacked each other with lathis and bricks over a children’s dispute while playing.
The incident took place in Thapi village of Achnera area on Sunday morning. Later, police arrested 11 persons including six women. Due to this, the
Bharatpur-Agra
highway was blocked for nearly an hour.
According to local sources, two 10-year-old boys were playing marbles along with other boys when they got into a scuffle. One of them allegedly punched the other boy and the latter immediately complained about it to his uncle Kalu. Hence, Kalu slapped the other boy several times. Seeing his son being beaten up, the boy’s mother called her relatives and allegedly started assaulting Kalu. Soon, more relatives joined them and started fighting with each other.
After the incident, police force was deployed in the area and all the 11 people involved in the fight were arrested.
According to
Jagdamba Singh
, station officer of Achnera, “Police have registered cases under IPC sections 147 (Punishment for rioting) and 148 (Rioting, armed with deadly weapon) against the accused.”
The accused were identified as Laxmi Devi, Munni Devi, Sheila Devi, Rakesh Singh, Mukesh Singh, Pohap Singh, Manoj Singh, Kalu, Bacchu Singh, Anar Devi, Preeti and Laja Dev.
Similarly, two groups of men allegedly assaulted each other over a land dispute in
Bhawanpura village
near Kirauli police outpost.
According to police, Banwari Lal fired a shot at Bino Prasad who was constructing a boundary wall on his farm land blocking a passage. Later, Bino assaulted Banwari with the help of other men.”
“Both the men were booked under IPC section 307,” said station officer Jagdamba Singh.
