Agra: A four-year-old girl died and several others were injured after a concrete lintel of an under-construction house collapsed in Daulatpur village under the Uttar police station limits of Firozabad district on Friday.
Police said construction work was underway on the second floor of the house, where labourers were laying the roof slab when the structure suddenly gave way and crashed down.
Several workers were trapped under the debris, while six members of the house owner's family, including the deceased girl, who were present nearby, also sustained injuries in the incident.
All the injured were rushed to the trauma centre of Firozabad Medical College, where the girl was declared dead, while the others are undergoing treatment.
ASP Ravi Shankar Prasad said a JCB machine was pressed into service to clear the debris, while teams from the Municipal Corporation were also deployed. "An NDRF team is on its way," he said.
"The remaining five members of the house owner's family have sustained minor injuries and are out of danger," ASP Prasad said.
