AGRA/FIROZABAD: An additional district information officer(ADIO) was confined and assaulted by his peon in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad,
Identified as
Prashant Awasthi, the ADIO sustained
head injury
and was taken to hospital for the first aid. Later, based on his complaint, an FIR was filed against the fourth class employee Narendar, who is absconding after the incident.
Speaking to TOI, Awasthi said, “Narendar is a short tempered guy. I asked him to deliver some official documents, on which he confined me in my office and assaulted me. With the intervention of others, I was rescued.”
Narendar was booked in
Dakshin police station
under IPS sections of assault and breach of peace.
According to police, Narendar had earlier assaulted another government employee in Hathras district.
