AGRA: Over 30 lakh devotees assembled in the

said that nearly 30 lakh pilgrims have reached Mathura and this number will go up by the evening. He said, according to the available figures, every year 30-35 lakh devotees visit Mathura to celebrate lord

He said, no untoward incident has been reported so far. “A total of 16 parking lots have been made in Mathura and five in Vrindavan to accommodate the rush. These lots are located almost one kilometre from the temples in order to ensure hassle-free roads near the temples,” said Kumar.

, Kapil Sharma, said that special arrangements have been put in place this year to enable devotees to pay obeisance without any obstacle. He said, The temple would remain open for nearly two hours past midnight today to facilitate pilgrims.

Over two lakh pilgrims performed ‘parikrama’ of hillock Govardhan, on the occasion on Sunday night, priest of Daan Ghati temple Rameshwar Purohit said. Meanwhile, preparation for “arrival of Krishna in Gokul” were in full swing, the priest of Raja Thakur temple in Gokul, Bhikoo Ji Maharaj, stated.

Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place and police personnel in plain clothes have been deployed at major temples.
