‘Victim’s organs ruptured’: Not allowed to speak to her boyfriend, UP woman drowns niece, goes on stabbing spree
AGRA: Miffed over not being allowed to speak to her boyfriend, a 25-year-old woman allegedly threw her sleeping four-year-old niece into a large water tank and later brutally attacked the child's mother with a knife. She then directed her rage on three other children, aged 7, 8 and 10, when they tried to save their mother. The four-year-old child died, while the mother is in a critical condition. The incident took place in Muzaffarnagar's Shahpur area around 2am on Tuesday, police said, adding that the accused's sister-in-law was stabbed repeatedly in the stomach "rupturing her internal organs and causing the intestine to partly come out".Her children -- Shad, 10, Aisha, 8, and Nabia, 7 -- also suffered stab wounds in their hands and fingers. They were all asleep at the time of the crime.SSP Sanjay Kumra Verma said, "The accused woman, Mana, has been arrested. She admitted that she was in a relationship with her neighbour for over two years, but her family recently fixed her marriage somewhere else. According to her, Firdosh, 30, her sister-in-law, tried to interfere in her personal affairs and used to reprimand her for speaking to the ‘neighbour'.
Over time, her resentment turned into hatred and anger."Amid the murderous spree at home early Tuesday, Firdosh's daughter, Isra, was reported missing. A search later led to the recovery of her body from the tank inside the courtyard.A case under BNS section 103 (murder) has been registered against the accused, police said. The knife used in the crime was also recovered. Firdosh is critical and she has been shifted to a higher medical centre in Meerut. To execute her plan, Mana had procured a large number of sedative pills eight days before the crime and served food and tea laced with these to the family on Monday night, said police. The role of her ‘lover', who currently works in Tamil Nadu, is also under the scanner, said police.
