Neighbour booked for killing 11-year-old for fighting with son

Agra: A day after an 11-year-old boy’s body was found in a mustard field in Kasganj district, local police booked his

neighbour

for murder. A hunt is on to nab him.

Identified as Netrpal Singh, 38, of Nagla Kothi village under Sidhpura police jurisdiction, the accused was booked under IPC section 302 (murder). According to police, after the incident accused has gone into hiding.

On Thursday morning, Rajnesh Singh’s body was recovered 100 metres from his house in a mustard field. An autopsy report confirmed that he had been smothered to death. He was missing since Wednesday evening.

Speaking with TOI, Rajkumar Singh, station house officer of Sidhpura, said, “Preliminary probe suggests that Netrpal murdered Rajnesh after the boy verbally abused and engaged in a fist fight with the accused’s son, Neeru. The quarrel was over a petty issue that arose while they were playing.”
