Agra: Morning walkers were horrified after they noticed a human foot sticking out of the muddy ground behind the Gandhi Park bus stand along the Shah Kamal Road in Aligarh on Wednesday. A police team, along with forensic experts and a dog squad, soon arrived and dug out the body of an unidentified man, believed to be around 30 years old.
SHO
Vijay Singh said initial evidence suggests possible murder. CCTV footage shows the man walking alone around midnight. His body was found the next morning with injury marks, and a stone lying nearby raised suspicion of foul play. The body was sent for post-mortem examination.
Police found identifying marks on the body, including a tattoo of Lord Hanuman and the name “Bulaki Ram” inscribed on his hand. A Nagarkot bracelet was also found. Locals said the man had been seen in the area for several days.
Heavy rain may have affected evidence. Police are scanning CCTV footage and awaiting the autopsy report. Photographs of the deceased have been circulated to police stations across the district to help establish his identity.
