Verma stopped his convoy and, with help from some locals, took Solanki in his vehicle to the emergency ward of Veerangana Avanti Bai Medical College. His family thanked Verma for his timely intervention and "saving his life". Solanki works at the local post office and resides in Kachehri Road. The incident was reported from the Railway Station Road under Kotwali Nagar limits in Etah.

The MLA said that while returning from the wedding he noticed a few people waiting for an ambulance for the injured man. Seeing his critical condition, he arranged a stretcher and took him to hospital where the attending doctors began treatment immediately. The medical team later stressed that "timely arrival at the hospital made it possible to handle the critical situation effectively".

Kotwali Nagar SHO Rajesh Chauhan said on Saturday, "Solanki was on a bike that was hit by an unidentified vehicle. CCTV cameras of nearby areas are being examined to identify the vehicle which caused the accident. Investigations are on."
