Mentally unstable woman gang-raped in Agra

AGRA: A mentally unstable dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped in remote area of

Agra district

by two men.


The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when the 27-year-old woman, hailing from Chhit village of

Kheragarh

police jurisdiction, was collecting firewoods near Kagraul canal. She was allegedly picked up by two motor-bike borne men, who took her to a secluded place near Kagraul police jurisdiction.

Speaking to TOI, Sanjul Pandey, station house officer of Kagraul said, "The survivor was rescued by local farmers who heard her scream. They caught the accused who were identified as Aslam Qureshi and

Akhlaq Qureshi

. We have booked the accused under IPC sections 376 D and ST/SC act."

On Monday, the survivor was sent for medical examination at government women hospital, while the two accused were presented in court for judicial remand.

The survivor is married to a daily wage labour. At the time of incident, her's husband was at work.
