Agra: Two men were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly killing a 25-year-old man in the parking lot of a marriage hall on Masani Delhi Link Road, Mathura, late Sunday night after he refused to fetch alcohol during the wedding.
Police began investigating the incident after arriving at the scene, deploying four teams and analysing CCTV footage from the hall and nearby areas. A suspicious car was identified, leading to the breakthrough.
Police said, Akhil Goyal, Shubham Agarwal, and Sanjay Sharma were attending the wedding and drinking inside Shubham's car in the hall's parking lot. Sanjay asked Rahul Goswami, a resident of Vikas Nagar Colony standing nearby, to fetch more alcohol. When Rahul refused, an argument ensued. Akhil and Shubham instigated Sanjay, who, in a drunken rage, shot Rahul with a pistol from the car, killing him instantly. The trio fled the scene in panic.
SP Shailesh Kumar Pandey said, "Rahul's father, Satyanand Giri, filed a murder complaint at Govind Nagar police station. Two accused, Shubham Agarwal and Akash Gupta, have been arrested while hiding at a restaurant. The other two, Akhil Goyal and Sanjay Sharma, are absconding."
