Man shoots sister-in-law dead, commits suicide later
Agra: A man shot his sister-in-law dead and later committed
The incident occurred when victim Sunita Devi, 22, was alone at home with her 20-day-old son. She was shot in the head from point blank range with a country-made pistol by her brother-in-law Shyam Gopal, 21, alias Bablu. He later committed suicide with the same weapon.
After the crime, Firozabad superintendent of police (SP) Sachindra Patel, SP (rural) Mahendra Kumar, station house officer of Nagla Khangar Deepak Chandra Dixit and a forensic team visited the site. The bodies were latersent for postmortem.
Anil Gopal, Sunita’s husband, who is a barber, was in his shop at the time when the incident took place. “I do not know what triggered this blood bath. Shyam had returned from Gurgaon on Sunday where he was employed at a private firm.”
SP Sachindra Patel said, “The crime seemed like fallout of a family dispute. The bodies will be handed over to relatives after the autopsy report arrives.”
