Man kills cousin for having illicit affair with wife

: A 23-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday by Chhatta police for allegedly murdering his cousin after he found out that victim was having an affair with his wife.


Identified as Vijay Pal Singh of Nagla Tak village under Dauki police jurisdiction, the accused was living in a rented accommodation with his wife and six-year-old son in Jeoni mandi area of Chhatta.

According to police, on December 12 afternoon, accused Vijay Pal Singh took his elder cousin Ajay Singh to a dense forest area of Jharna nala under Etmadpur police jurisdiction and killed him with an axe.

Chhatta station house officer Umesh Chandra Tripathi said, “On December 14, Ajay’s father Ram Avatar lodged a complaint about his missing son. During probe, we found out that victim had an

illicit affair

with Vijay’s wife. After interrogation, Vijay confessed to have killed his cousin and took us to the location where he dumped victim’s body.”

“The axe used in the murder has been recovered and the body has been sent for autopsy. The accused has been charged under IPC section 302 (murder),” added SHO.
