Man, 40, shoots employer’s daughter, then self in agri field

Agra: A 40-year-old man, who worked as a farmhand, shot his employer's daughter on the head before shooting himself in the temple with a country-made pistol. The incident took place at Bandpura village in Kheragarh area of Agra district on Thursday evening.Vinay Kumar, a resident of Kamal village and father of five, worked at the farm of Amar Singh in Bandpura village. In the evening, Kumar lured Singh's daughter Preeti to the field on the pretext of discussing some matter. Hearing gunshots, villagers rushed to the field and found both of them lying dead 100 m apart. Villagers said Kumar frequently quarreled with others, and that he persistently tried to strike up a conversation with Preeti against her wishes.Additional commissioner of police Irfan Ahmad said preliminary investigation is on in the matter and further action will be taken accordingly.
