AGRA: A day after the alleged rape of a 14 years old girl by two men from a particular community, the mahapanchayat of Village Magorra on Thursday decided to socially boycott the entire Qureshi community residing there.
A decision to the effect was taken at the mahapanchayat which was attended by over 12000 people of 12 panchayats. As per the decision no villager would either talk or conduct any business, personal or professional, with the Qureshi community, which accounts for about 50 people in the village.

The Mahapanchayat also announced to launch an agitation if the police fail to arrest the second accused in the case, Anees.
The mahapanchayat was called to discuss after two men from the community had gang raped the 14 year old girl on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. The three hour long mahapanchayat was also attended m by the victim's family and representatives of all communities from the near by villages.
Talking to TOI, Magorra sarpanch, Chandrapal Singh Kuntal, confirmed the decision and said no villagers were keep any social contact with the community.
He said raping a minor girl after dragging her from her house was an heinous crime and these youths had been earlier also accused of molesting some girls.
"They were warned by the panchayat earlier but they didn't mend their ways. So now the entire community would be boycotted", he said.
When contacted, SP (Rural) Arun Kumar said that all efforts are being made to trace the absconding the suspects. He said police force continue to be deployed in the village as a precautionary measure.
