Information officer of Firozabad, assaulted by short tempered peon

Agra/Firozabad: Additional district information officer was confined and assaulted by his peon in Firozabad district.
Identified as Prashant Awasthi, the ADIO sustained head injury and was taken to hospital for first aid. Later, based on his complaint, an FIR was filed against the fourth class employee Narendar, who is absconding since the incident.
Speaking to TOI, Awasthi said, “Narendar is short tempered. I asked him to deliver some official documents, after which he confined me in my office and assaulted me. I was rescued after others intervened.”
Narendar was booked in Dakshin police station under IPS sections of assault and breach of peace.
According to police, Narendar had earlier assaulted another government employee in Hathras district.
