Dehradun: Uttarakhand high court has issued a contempt notice to the managing director (MD) of Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation (UAFDC), Neena Grewal, for non-compliance with a previous order and directed her to file a response within four weeks.
A single bench of Justice Rakesh Thapliyal was hearing a contempt petition filed by retired employees of the corporation.
The contempt plea was filed by seven petitioners, Tara Arya and others who retired from the posts of scaler and chowkidar at UAFDC.
On behalf of the petitioners, it was submitted that the govt, after paying the employees a grade pay of Rs 5,400, subsequently issued recovery orders against them. The petitioners challenged the matter and the single bench, on Nov 26, 2025, stayed the recovery orders and directed payment of pending dues within 90 days.
However, the order was not complied with till date.
Following this, the court issued a contempt notice to the MD of the Nigam, directing her to file a response as to why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against her.
