AGRA: A day after Lucknow’s Hazratganj police arrested Meera Yadav, wife of legislative council chairperson Ramesh Yadav, for allegedly killing her younger son, Abhijeet Yadav (22),
Ramesh Yadav told TOI he had full faith in UP Police.
Speaking to media persons at his residence in Etah city’s Gandhi Market, Yadav said, “I am not aware of the entire truth but I will support police in their investigation.”
When questioned, if he had met Meera Yadav prior to Abhijeet’s murder, Yadav said, “I have recently had a bypass surgery and have not been keeping well.
Therefore, I did not get an opportunity to visit my home and talk to anyone. Let’s wait for the police chargesheet. A clear picture will emerge soon.”
Abhijeet was found murdered under mysterious conditions in Yadav’s official flat at Darul Shafa under Hazratganj police station on Sunday. Police were alerted when the family tried to cremate the body secretly and the cremation was stopped.
Later, Ramesh Yadav’s wife Meera was arrested for the murder of her own son and causing disappearance of evidence.
While being taken to court, Meera told media persons that her husband Ramesh Yadav was responsible for the death of her son as he had not distributed his property equally among his sons and had given a lion’s share to Ashish, the son from his first wife Prema. She also accused a senior
Samajwadi Party leader for shielding her husband.
The forensic team has already collected samples of blood stains from the bedsheet to match it with the blood of Abhijeet which will help establish that he was attacked at the scene of crime.
Police said that they would also ascertain the location of the elder son Abhishek Yadav at the time of the crime.
