: Amid tight security, the havan organised by the family of the two-and-a-half-year-old girl murdered in Aligarh’s

Tappal

area passed off peacefully on Wednesday.

Hundreds of people, including local police personnel and politicians, participated in the prayer meeting.

Superintendent of police (rural) Manilal Patidar said that police personnel participated in the havan and paid tributes to the victim. He added that police force would be deployed in the area for some more time to prevent any untoward incidents.

Hassan and his associate Aslam - in connection with the crime. The girl’s mutilated body was spotted by a cleaner on June 2 when stray dogs dragged it from a garbage dump. The murder had sparked massive outrage nation-wide.
