Agra: The GRP's anti-mobile theft wing recovered 627 mobile phones, valued at approximately Rs1.5 crore, that had been lost or stolen during train journeys. These phones were returned to their rightful owners on Sunday during a program at the Agra GRP Line.
SP GRP Abhishek Verma said the campaign, conducted between Sept and Dec 2024, focused on tracking and recovering lost devices. Passengers expressed joy and gratitude upon receiving their phones.
Renu, a passenger from Firozabad, shared her surprise, saying, "I lost my mobile phone on the train and filed a complaint. I never expected to get it back."
SP Verma added, "Over the past four months, our anti-mobile theft wing has recovered approximately 627 mobile phones, valued at around Rs 1.5 crore, within the police stations under the GRP Agra jurisdiction. Some of these phones were distributed in a ceremony at the GRP premises in Agra. For those unable to attend, their phones will be handed over separately. GRP Agra is committed to ensuring the return of your stolen or lost property."
