Gatimaan’s menu: Pasta, kebabs to please the palate

Agra: For passengers on Gatimaan Express, while the sparkling green interior and soft music playing in the coaches are a treat for the senses, a wide array of dishes on the menu is set to delight the taste buds.
The 12-coach train - with two executive classes and eight chair cars - has two chefs preparing the lip-smacking food items. The coaches, with seating capacity of 56 passengers each, have their own pantries.
Talking to TOI, executive chef of Gatimaan Express, Nikhil Rastogi, said, “We are serving mouth-watering Indian and continental cuisine.”
“In the 100-minute journey, passengers are served four meals. These include juice; tray meal (cutlet, butter, bread); meal box (continental, north Indian, south Indian, veg and non-veg) and finally tea.”
“All the items in the food menu have been approved by the railway board. When a passenger books the ticket they will have the option of choosing vegetarian or non-vegetarian food. We offer upma, kanjeevaram idli, aloo kulcha, chholeand parantha. Pasta will also be served. Passengers can also choose to have shami kebab, chicken roll, chicken sausages and Spanish omelette.”
