Firozabad: 8 men booked for derogatory Facebook posts against Hindu gods

| FIROZABAD: Eight men were booked on Thursday late night for provocation and insulting ‘Hindu god’ on Facebook, postKasganj clash
to trigger violence inFirozabad
district.The FIR was lodged at Shikohabad police station under IPC sections 153A (Promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 295A (Deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and IT act 67 against Tabish Pathan, MS Jamil Malik, Gajni Khan, Akaram Ali Ansari, Jamal Ahmad, Sayeed Zafar Ali, Kalim Baba and Ajju Bhai.
FIR was lodged by Firozabad district coordinator of
Bajrang Dal
, Santosh Kumar Vashistha.Speaking to TOI, Vashistha said, “Post Kasganj clash, anti-social elements have increased abusive trolling on social networking website to trigger clash in Firozabad as well. On January 31 night, eight muslim youths, whose Facebook profiles mentioned their location in Pune, Delhi, Firozabad and other places, were continuously posting provocating, insulting and abusive words against Hindu gods.”
