DM asks officials to ensure Agra civil air terminal’s completion by July

Agra: The new civil air terminal in Agra, currently under construction, is likely to be completed by July this year. District Magistrate (DM) Aravind Bangari inspected the site on Thursday and directed officials to ensure the project is completed on time. The foundation stone of the terminal was laid in Oct 2024.Anoop Chandra Srivastava, general manager (engineering) and project in charge, said, "Construction work is in its final stages and will be completed within the stipulated timeline."During the inspection, the DM reviewed the pace of work and directed officials to ensure proper drinking water facilities, drainage and efficient water disposal within the terminal premises. He also stressed maintaining construction quality while adhering to deadlines, stating that the terminal will improve air connectivity for the city once operational.The facility will have a fully air-conditioned terminal building with a passenger handling capacity of 1,400, a multi-level car parking facility and 19 check-in counters. Digi Yatra and self-check-in facilities will also be available. An apron with parking space for nine aircraft is also part of the project.The terminal is being developed as a green building and will include a 500 kW solar power plant for renewable energy generation. As part of sustainable mobility measures, 33 electric vehicle charging points will be installed.The project will also allow direct boarding from the terminal to aircraft, enabling smoother passenger movement.
