The 19-year-old recipient of Bharat award 2018 for her protest against the malpractices of gambling and betting in Agra city has to appear in court on February 22, 2019. She was also honoured with the ‘Rani Laxmi Bai Bravery Award’ in 2016 by the then UP CM?Akhilesh Yadav.

The complaint which was lodged through advocate Nitin Verma last year, who had appeared for his colleague Krapal Singh Verma in the court, claimed in his application that Nazia Khan with mala fide intention publically announced through media channels that Krapal Singh Verma is not registered with any bar council and is nothing but a fake lawyer, who actually is ‘land-mafia’ and was involved in firing shots in district court premises.

Speaking to TOI, Krapal Singh Verma, the complainant, said, “In an ongoing property dispute with my neighbour in Tajganj police jurisdiction, last year (April 11) Nazia Khan and her family family members, who live in Mantola police jurisdiction, came to my property and engaged in a scuffle and assaulted me. Later, she filed a false FIR against me in Tajganj, whose investigation was transferred to her home police jurisdiction Mantola on her request. After the incident, she also gave interview on various news channels that I’m a fake lawyer and ‘Bhumafia’ (Land-mafia) too. She misused her status and respect which was bestowed on her by the state and central governments and attempted to tarnish my name and integrity in society.”

Later in June month, advocate Krapal Singh Verma too filed an FIR against Nazia Khan and eight others through court under IPC sections 153A, 147, 148, 149, 323 and 384.

Nitin Verma, the lawyer representing Krapal case, said, "We provided strong evidences in court against Nazia Khan, after which court accepted our plea and issued summon to her to appear later in the month."
