Cleric booked for sodomy in Agra

In yet another alleged sexual abuse of minor, a maulvi (muslim cleric) has been booked by Agra Police.

AGRA: In yet another alleged sexual abuse of minor, a maulvi (muslim cleric) has been booked by Agra Police.
Identified as Mohammad Rizvan, the accused, who is resident of Foundarynagar area in Itmad-ud-Daula police jurisdiction, is reported to be at large after the incident was reported to police by victim’s family.
According to the police, the maulvi has been accused for sodomy with an nine-year-old boy.

“We have booked the accused man under IPC section 377 (unnatural offence) and POSCO,” said station officer Shatrunjay Singh of Itmad-ud-Daula area.
The victim’s mother said the maulvi is a distant family friend. A few weeks ago, he offered to teach the child Urdu and Arabian language and asked the boy's family to send him to his house. He promised to take care of the child.
“Last week, after our son was sexually abused, he ran away from the cleric's home and narrated the ordeal. The maulvi used to take our son to Aligarh and Hathras district where he used to force him to work as a labourer and harass him,” claimed the mother.
This is 29th incident of sexual abuse with minor in Agra range in last five months.
