AGRA: A 10-year-old boy exposed the alleged murder of his maternal uncle after his mother tried to pass it off as a missing person's case in Mainpuri, leading police to arrest the woman and her lover.
Karan Mishra, 25, had gone to drop his sister, Pooja Dube, 32, at her house in Kusmura village under Kishni police station area and stayed there for the night, where he allegedly caught her in a compromising situation with her lover, Jitendra Thakur, 38, before he was shot dead late Wednesday night, police said on Thursday.
Police said Pooja tried to cover up the crime by filing a missing person's complaint and telling family members that Karan had left the house.
The case unravelled when her 10-year-old son gave an account that differed from hers and told police that Jitendra had shot his maternal uncle.
Mainpuri SP Ganesh Prasad Saha said, "Pooja arrived to report her brother missing. She was accompanied by her young son. During the conversation, the manner in which she presented the facts raised suspicion."
