According to Sandeep Chaudhary, “We were ferrying Rs 17 lakh cash and Rs 3.5 lakh cheques in a bag to deposit in PNB branch of Suryanagar. As soon, we took left turn towards Bhagwan Talkies from Asopa Road, three motorcycle borne gun wielding masked men tried to snatch away the money bag. They pointed two country-made gun at us and flee away with bag. We tried to chase, but couldn’t stop them.” “We have noted the motor-bike registration number,” he added.
Speaking to TOI, station officer of New Agra police station, J N Asthana, “The registration number shared by victims is of Honda Activa scooty, it is possible that miscreants had used forge number plate to hide their identity.”
“We have formed police team who will investigate the matter. Meanwhile, we are trying to get CCTV footage captured in various cameras where the incident took place. Soon we will be able to nab the culprits,” he added.
An FIR is being lodged in the case against unknown three men under IPC section, 392 (Punishment for robbery).
The police is also questioning the victims, as source in department believe that without help from man working for the company, the robbers cannot execute such well-planned robbery in daylight.
