AGRA:
Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University
plans to issue tracking IDs to students applying for marksheets and degree certificates so that they can check statuses of their applications online, without having to make rounds of the
university
for the purpose. The move, aimed to keep a tab on the large number of students who throng varsity offices on a daily basis, also means to issue the applications to the students in time.
Since 2012, Agra University faced criticism for the pile-up of applications, marksheets and degree certificates. The university administration, in a meeting chaired by vice-chancellor
Arvind Kumar Dixit
on Sunday, decided that students applying for marksheets, degrees and the verification of certificates will be issued a tracking ID. Pending cases of previous years will also be assigned tracking IDs for time-bound redressals.
University public relation officer
GS Sharma
said, “The university administration has decided to end the offline system of applying for any issue related to marsksheets, degree certificates, etc. All the applications will be received online. After successfully applying through the university website, students will receive a tracking ID on their mail ID, using which they will be able to check the status in just few clicks, without having to take the effort to visit university offices”.
Sharma added, “The status of files of various departments will also be monitored through a tracking system. For this, all important files will be assigned bar codes. The vice-chancellor has constituted a four-member committee to monitor proper functioning of the tracking system”.
