Agra: Dr B R Ambedkar’s 135th birth anniversary was celebrated across the district on Tuesday with seminars, cleanliness drives and other events in schools, government offices and public spaces. Prabhat pheris were organised in the morning, while statues of Babasaheb at parks and major intersections were cleaned and decorated with garlands.
At the Collectorate auditorium, district magistrate Aravind Mallappa Bangari offered floral tributes to Ambedkar’s portrait. He said, “The Constitution ensures justice, equality and rights for all citizens, and without it, the entire system would be unstable.” Bangari urged officials to uphold the spirit of equality, adding that ensuring justice for every citizen would be a true tribute to Babasaheb.
