AGRA: Authorities at Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar University in Agra have decided to award honorary degrees to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, missile scientist
Tessy Thomas and eminent yoga teacher HR Nagendra during its 83rd convocation ceremony scheduled to take place on December 5.
On Saturday, the varsity's top decision making body, the executive council, passed a proposal in this regard.
According to its public relations officer GS Sharma, the proposal will now be sent to the university chancellor and UP governor Ram Naik for his approval, after which vice chancellor Arvind Dixit will formally send out the invites.
"Doval is an alumnus of Agra university. He was a meritorious student and acquired a master's degree in economics. It is a matter of honour for the varsity that a former student is doing a great job as NSA. According to the executive council's proposal, Doval will be awarded with DLitt (doctor of literature) degree," Sharma said.
