Agra: Shahan Ali Mohsin clinched the junior category title in the 2018 MSports X30 challenge after a nail-biting final at Meco Kartopia, Bangalore. Mohsin took part in the senior category as well. Despite being 14-years-old, Mohsin was allowed to compete in the senior category in Round 5, which is for 15-years and above, owing to his experience.
Mohsin headed into the final weekend with a 12-point lead in the junior category.
The championship winner was decided on the basis of race wins, as Mohsin, with nine wins compared to peer Arjun Nair’s five, clinched the position. The victory means Mohsin will represent India in the IAME International Final.
The week-long event will take place at the famous Le Mans kart circuit in France from October 8 to 14, where Mohsin will get a chance to compete against the 120 best drivers from all over the world for the world title. “It was quite a frantic final weekend,” said Mohsin.
