: The members of the India Unites For Animals (IUFA) will protest against animal abuse on Sunday. According to the city head of the organization, a silent protest will be carried out in 70 cities across the country and abroad as well to support voiceless animals.

In Agra, a silent march will be carried out from Speed Color Lab on MG Road to Saheed Smarak at

Sanjay Place

at around 3:30 pm and thereafter there will be a signature campaign, a play titled '

Ek Jaan Ki Keemat

50 Rupaye' highlighting atrocities on animals by human beings.

IUFA city head

Vineeta Arora

said that India has recently witnessed the worst ever cases of animal abuse due to weak animal protection laws.

"Inhuman people have been involved in heinous activities against innocent animals like throwing a dog from a terrace, beating the police horse Shaktiman, who later died, burning puppes or beating them to death and many more," she said.

Arora added that when any animal lover tries to come forward to raise their voice against such atrocities they have been threatened as there is no amendment in the Prevention of Cruelty towards Animals (PCA) Act since 1960.

"According to the law, people are still fined only Rs 50 for torturing or killing animals," she added.
