6 injured as road rage between 2 villages turns violent in Hathras

Agra: Six people were injured after a road rage incident escalated into a violent clash between residents of two neighbouring villages under the Hathras Junction police station limits on Tuesday morning.Police said the altercation began when an e-rickshaw carrying schoolchildren allegedly overturned after a tractor abruptly blocked its path while passing through Chhonk village. Although the children were unharmed, a heated argument broke out between the e-rickshaw driver, Vipin Kumar of Tatarpur village, and the tractor driver, Krishan Kumar of Chhonk village.The verbal exchange soon turned into a physical confrontation, as residents from both villages gathered at the spot and allegedly attacked each other with sticks and metal chains used for tethering cattle.At least six people from both sides sustained injuries and were taken to the district hospital for treatment and medical examination, police said. A video of the incident has since circulated widely on social media.Police added that four individuals have been arrested so far, and efforts are underway to apprehend others involved in the clash. Hathras Junction SHO Lalit Kumar Sharma said, "A case has been registered against four people under BNSS section 170 (arrest to prevent commission of cognizable offences). No formal complaint has been filed by either side so far. The matter is under investigation, and further action will be taken accordingly."
