AGRA: Three post-graduate students of a private university, including two siblings, were killed after their hatchback rammed an electric pole on Monday in Firozabad district. The fourth person in the car, Shalini Chauhan, survived and was rushed to Firozabad government hospital. The accident occurred around 1 pm on Monday near Banvara village on Etah-Shikohabad state highway under Jasrana police jurisdiction.
The victims, identified as Pooja Verma, Rajesh Verma and their batchmate Shailendra, were killed on spot.
All the victims were in their early 20s. According to police, the impact of the accident was so severe that hatchback broke in two. It took a lot of effort to extract the victims’ bodies from the mangled car.
Girish Chand Gautam, station house officer of Jasrana said, “The exact cause of accident is not yet known. The sole survivor, Shailini Chauhan, is unconscious and is undergiong treatment. We established their identities from their university identity cards. Police are now contacting the university to alert the victims’ parents about the accident.”
All the four victims were students of a private university based in Shikohabad and were pursuing MSc. Their bodies were sent for post-mortem and the mangled hatchback has been removed from the accident site.
